exploring and moving leadership
March, 3-6, 2006; Belgium
The idea for a gathering of women came into being after we had the experience of Moving the Edge in March 2006 in Denmark. In the mean time, as the convening team, we were looking deeply into our own leadership issues and how to step into our own full potential.
The gathering was deeply inspiring and exceptional! You can read the whole story on my blog, and a reflection afterwards on Helen's blog and you can look at the pictures, who tell the same story.
There are plans to do a similar gathering in the US, somewhere in 2008!

Of emergent collective leadership

Little history
The idea for a gathering of women came into being after we had the experience of Moving the Edge in March 2006 in Denmark.
The gathering, early March in Belgium, was deeply inspiring and exceptional! You can read the whole story on my blog, and a reflection afterwards on Helen's blog and you can look at the pictures, who tell the same story.
Now the next gathering is planned in the US, October 2008. Some women already talk about a next European gathering in Spring!
A purposeful gathering of conscious women who will explore and move the edge:
- of what it means to fully step into our own and lead from there
- of possibility as we re-imagine, redefine, and co-create who we are and what we will do
Today’s world requires unparalleled courage and presence if we are to effect change. From a place of inquiry, of suspending what we think we know, of moving beyond the edge of safety and harmony, we Women Moving the Edge have the opportunity to explore our individual and collective potential. In this gathering we will not only explore, we will be it, we will do it.
A purposeful gathering of conscious women who:
• will explore and move the edge of what it means to know, sense, and be our emergent collective future potential
• hold, embrace, and birth the unfolding wholeness together
• co-create the grooves in consciousness beyond our individual and collective edge
In this gathering we will not only explore the edge, we will be it, we will do it. Our world requires of us the courage to open engage, to inquire, to suspend, and to explore beyond what we think we know. Together we will co-create and be the vessel to awaken the inter-subjective “We”, the Being who comes alive through all of us together, who awaits our invitation to bring collective leadership into fruition.
- What qualities of leadership do we envision are needed now to bring positive change for all of life on this planet?
* What unique qualities do women hold in this vision? How are they core to who we are? What qualities have we not yet imagined?
* Who are we collectively? Is there a collective holding back? Is there a collective source for stepping forward?
* What does conscious collective women’s leadership look like? How will we do and be that? How will we bring that forward? Together?
• What unique qualities of leadership do women hold to bring positive change for all life on this planet?
• What are the active roles of silence, listening, sensing, and holding? Are these a kind of feminine action birthing a higher level of embracing/consciousness?
• Can we hold the paradoxes: the chaos, the stillness, the movement, the joy, and the pain? And give birth from this uncertain yet fertile place?
• Who are we collectively? Is there a collective holding back? A collective inner knowing? Is there a collective source for stepping forward?
• What does conscious collective women’s leadership look like? How to reclaim the right to re-order the world?
The convening team will open the way for various modes of creative engagement and emergent leadership. These will include:
– World Café, Open Space, Appreciative Inquiry, Generative Dialogue, to create a self-organising field of women’s wisdom
– Ritual and celebration
– Movement, dance, voice/tone/vibration
– Art, music, poetry
– Nature as our guide
– Being in silence and/or meditation
– Invitations to practice leadership in the moment – to view the system and patterns from the balcony or to actively be in-the-moment flow and in the chaos on the dance floor
– Opportunities to take responsibility for next steps, collaborations, or projects
How will you show up in consciousness?

• Emergent practices like Generative Dialogue, Constellation, and the U Process of Presencing
• Ritual and celebration
• Movement, dance, voice/tone/vibration

An adventurous inquiry
into the role of women’s leadership
in moving the edge of conscious society.
What if women
take the/their leadership
in creating a conscious society?
Celebrating
women’s core qualities

How is the women’s collective ego
holding us back
from co-creating what we want?
We are in the process of writing the invitation for this workshop.

Women and Leadership
An adventurous inquiry
into the role of women’s leadership
in moving the edge of conscious society.
What if women
take the/their leadership
in creating a conscious society?
Celebrating
women’s core qualities
for the sake of a conscious society.
How is the women’s collective ego
holding us back
from co-creating what we want?
We are in the process of writing the invitation for this workshop.
Convening and facilitation team is:
Ria Baeck - Belgium
Judy Wallace - USA
Eugenie van Ruitenbeek - Netherlands
The idea for a gathering of women came into being after we had the experience of Moving the Edge in March 2006 in Denmark. In the mean time, as the convening team, we were looking deeply into our own leadership issues and what it is that is in the way to step into our full potential. We evolved from being the convening team for a gathering of women to a facilitation team for a workshop.
We think the following perspectives will be active and useful:
Beyond Words: Body, movement, art, nature
Deeper listening in the here and now
Expand mental knowing and inspiration
Community beyond conversations
Place:
Heerlijckyt van Elsmeren, Belgium
Timing: February or March, 2007
If you feel called to join, you are invited! send an email!
