What if it is easy?

Monday, January 9th, 2012

This question – What if it is easy? – and the related state of mind: – if it is not easy, then something is not in balance or harmony – is one of my favortie mantras these days. Here is someone talking about the same!

Life is easy. What do we make it so hard?

Patterns

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Patterns,
seeing patterns,
seems to me like an intelligence to understand complexity.

I love this young guy and how he can talk so fast! And the imagery is just right.

Patterns,
like the coherence in living systems.

Enjoy!

Imagine nations with freed imaginations…

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

I always get frustrated when reading or hearing English poetry; but this time I understand 98%, and it is worthwhile sharing. I was in the same gathering once with Drew – and again I was frustrated because I couldn’t understand most of what he said… maybe my understanding of English has improved also since then?

Great line: Imagine nations with freed imagination!

Beyond the tragedy of the Commons

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Elinor Ostrom, Nobel price winner on economics, explains how people can use natural resources in a sustainable way based on the diversity that exists in the world. She researched the economy of the Commons, an idea who’s time has (to) come.

A blog that I am following in this regard is David Bollier: really insightful, both on the good work that is going on around the Commons, as also the bad news regarding this topic.

Design revolution

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Hazel Henderson, one of the leading women of the feminist movement in the sixties and seventies, is still very much alive and didn’t stop her evolution there. Here is a nice video of her current thinking – on design, on revolution.

Your deepest self is your home

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

I have read some books from Mindell, but never got to any of his trainings in Worldwork, but it seems fascinating. Recently, I got a link to this video from Yuliaya, living and working in Kiev, and organising these trainings there.
I might go there one day…
There are a lot of good, great ideas in this video; worthwhile listening more than once!

Recht op wonen, op een nieuwe maatschappij

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Voor het eerst hoor ik van dit project in België: een gebouw waar een zestigtal mensen samenleven, en waar veel gebeurt rond recycling en upcycling. Goed dat het ook hier gebeurt!

Power, fail and one other word

ALIA – the Authentic Leadership in Action, previously known as Shambhala Institute, is spreading its wings out from Halifax where it started many years ago. The came twice to The Netherlands and this summer they will gather in Columbus, Ohio. To introduce all the teachers – hosts – facilitators they asked them to speak about three words that are important for ‘change for good’.

Here you hear Tuesday Ryan-Hart and Chris Corrigan, both dear friends from the Art of Hosting community. Enjoy!

On Silence

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

From my women friends who run Coming into Your Own, who started also In SIlence Together. I doesn’t mean that I have the same perspective on all she says, but still it is a great resource on SIlence.

Beauty

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

An idea occured to me Sunday, working in my garden the whole weekend, I’m not growing vegetables, I’m cleaning this piece of land that I am currently stewarding and I’m doing my best to grow a good and healthy soil. On top of that I’m trying to create beauty along the way; and I am anjoying it all tremendously!

What follows is a little video of one of the many TED-talks, of which I am a fan. The Beauty of Pollination!
Beauty indeed!!!
